At Fayetteville Family Dentistry, we are pleased to offer conscious sedation dentistry, which allows you to be completely relaxed during your procedure without the use of IV sedation. With conscious sedation, oral sedative medication is used to completely reduce anxiety, fears and discomfort while allowing you to speak and breathe on your own.
Conscious sedation has many benefits, including:
- It is safer than traditional anesthesia with fewer possible side effects.
- It is effective in treating moderate to severe dental anxiety.
- It does not render you unable to speak.
- It allows you to breathe on your own.
- It is less expensive than IV sedation.
- It allows you to get all your dental work done in one visit in many cases.
- It allows you to enjoy little to no memory of the procedure without ever losing consciousness.
If you will be using conscious sedation, you will need a driver to and from your appointment.
Please note:
- Sedation treatment requires full payment before treatment.
- You will be charged a non-refundable $200 fee with less than 48 hours notice of cancellation.
- Sedation is not covered by any insurance and is $340 (including nitrous gas) per appointment.
